Vietnamese Students Excel in Mathematics

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has released the results of the 2022 PISA Vietnam survey. These results were based on a survey of 6,068 students from 178 schools, representing approximately 939,500 15-year-old students in Vietnam, on their math, reading, and science skills. According to the findings, Vietnamese students achieved an average math score of 438 points, which is one of the highest scores among students from similar socio-economic backgrounds. About 13% of disadvantaged students in Vietnam scored high in math. Vietnamese students’ average scores in all three subjects ranked 34th out of 81 countries and territories, with math scores ranking 31st, science scores ranking 35th, and reading scores ranking 34th. These results place Vietnamese students second only to Singapore in the ASEAN region. A photo exhibition called “A Mother’s Love” by Le Bich, a well-known photographer from Hanoi, will be held at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in downtown Hanoi from March 1 to 15. Modest investment The cultural and creative industries are some of the fastest-growing industries in the world and are expected to contribute up to 10% of global GDP by 2030. Many countries recognize the increasingly important role of creative culture in the post-industrial economy, driving sustainable development. In Vietnam, the Party and State have implemented guidelines, policies, and laws to develop culture and cultural industries. In a resolution adopted in 2014, the Party Central Committee emphasized the need to build a healthy cultural market, promote the development of cultural industries, and strengthen the dissemination of Vietnamese culture. The 13th National Party Congress in 2021 also identified the urgent task of developing cultural industries and cultural services by leveraging the soft power of Vietnamese culture. Photo: VNA On February 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Directive No. 06/CT-TTg, instructing the Ministry of Public Security to consider waiving visas for more countries based on the new situation and Vietnam’s relations with those countries. Vietnam already waives visas for travelers from 25 countries, including 13 entitled to unilateral exemption. These countries are Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus. Vietnamese Duo Wears Ao Dai Around the World

“Ao Dai 100” is an initiative to showcase Ao Dai in 100 famous locations worldwide, in order to promote the beauty of Vietnamese traditional clothing. This concept was first conceived by 41-year-old Hoang Thanh Tung and his wife, Quynh Nguyen, in May 2018. Tung shared that six years ago, there was a controversy surrounding Ao Dai in some foreign fashion shows, which caught his attention. It was then that he came up with the idea of using photography to introduce the world to the beauty of Ao Dai. By February 2020, the couple had visited 12 countries and captured 28 photoshoots at various destinations. However, the project had to be put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resumed in 2023. “Initially, it was just an album of photos from our travels.
