UOB Painting of the Year Award provides global opportunities for Vietnamese artists

Until March 31, Hanoi’s art-loving public and international visitors can enjoy the breathtaking winning paintings of the first UOB Painting of the Year (POY) Award in Vietnam at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. Trinh Minh Tien, winner of the UOB Painting of the Year 2023, showcased his spray-painted masterpiece titled “Thien Hau Pagoda” on a car bonnet. According to the organizers, the exhibition offers a diverse range of artworks that employ various materials and techniques, including paint on bonnets, oil on canvas, and oil wax. These works carry profound messages about life, people, and society. MICE tourism: Revealing Vietnam’s Lucrative “Golden Market”

Ben Thanh’s inbound MICE services have also experienced growth. Tran Phuong Linh, the Director of Marketing and Information Technology at Ben Thanh Tourist, shared that the company organized MICE tours for foreign guests from Thailand, South Korea, Japan, China, and other countries. Over 1,800 Individuals Take Part in French-Speaking Race in Hanoi

The “Ensemble” (Together) Francophone running tournament took place on March 24 at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park in Hanoi, with over 1,800 runners participating, as reported by VOV. The participants included students, lecturers, businesses, representatives of diplomatic agencies, Francophone organizations, and foreigners based in Hanoi. This year, the main theme of the event was the UN SDG 3 “For a healthy and happy life for communities of all ages”. The race consisted of three main distances: 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Athletes participate in the first Francophone Running Course 2024. A total of 37 prizes were awarded to both male and female winners in each distance. Additionally, prizes were given to the oldest and youngest athletes. A wide range of activities were held, including nearly 40 booths set up by organizations and businesses in the French-speaking community of Hanoi. Moreover, students from across the capital brought 28 art performances to the event.

The International Running Event Kicked Off in Da Lat The annual Dalat Ultra Trail is happening in Da Lat, a beautiful resort city in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam’s Central Highlands. More than 6,000 participants are taking part in the event, running through the scenic Langbiang Mountain. The Dalat Ultra Trail 2024 offers a range of distances for all levels of runners. There are six categories to choose from: 5km, 15km, 25km, 55km, 75km, and the most challenging category, the 112km race. The 112km race started on Friday night, while the rest of the races began on Saturday morning. Participants from around the world are coming together to compete in this prestigious event. Classical music festival happening in Da Lat

The week-long festival showcases the talents of more than 100 local and international artists. The festival is organized by the Vietnam Youth Music Institute and Vietfest, an international company founded in Vietnam that specializes in large-scale entertainment and cultural projects. Vietnamese gymnast banned for 24 months due to doping

The ban was imposed as a result of a positive test sample taken on September 16, 2023 during the 2023 FIG Asian Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where Vi won a gold medal in the women’s singles event for the Vietnam team. The FIG notice revealed that Vi’s sample contained four banned substances: hydrochlorothiazide, chlorothiazide, amiloride, and sibutramine. Vi’s ban will be lifted on November 15, 2025. As a result, all of her performances from September 16, 2023 onward were nullified, including her 2023 FIG Asian Championship gold medal. Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) negotiations between India and the EFTA countries began in 2008. After 21 extensive rounds of negotiations lasting nearly 16 years, the final agreement was eventually signed by all parties involved. This agreement is significant as it is the first-ever free trade agreement between India and European countries. However, its enforcement depends on the ratification process, which requires all five countries – India, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland – to ratify the agreement. The agreement will come into force on the “first day of the third month” only after the instruments of ratification are deposited with the government of Norway.
