Ha Long Carnaval Festival 2024 to Be Held in Vietnam

For the first time ever, the iconic Vietnamese coast will be the setting for a carnival festival. The golden sands of Ha Long Bay will be teeming with musical and artistic wonders, harmoniously combining history and culture, while affirming the tourism value of Vietnam.

Ha Long Carnaval Festival 2024, themed “Bright with Wonders,” will take place at Ocean Park Beach, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.

One of the festival’s most captivating features will be the adaptation of Drone light technology combined with 3D mapping technology to depict the iconic symbols of Ha Long and Quang Ninh.

The festival will boast renowned artists such as singers Tung Duong, Dong Hung, To Minh Thang, and boyband Dong Thoi Gian (Time Flow). It will also bring together troupes from Japan’s Hokkaido, China’s Guangxi, Laos, Thailand and Europe. The stage will be set to harmoniously combine elements both on the shore and on the sea, with hundreds of vessels participating.

The festival will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display combined with a parade of tourist ships and artistic performances of canoeing on the sea.

The festival serves as an opportunity to showcase the wonders, heritage, and people of Ha Long Bay – Quang Ninh to both the nation and the international community. A new feature of the 2024 Ha Long Carnaval Festival is that Ha Long City will build a real-life art performance space and host the first-ever carnival at sea in Vietnam.

In addition to the main festival, the province will host 11 cultural, arts, sports, and tourism activities during the national holiday on April 30 and May 1.

The Beer and Cha Muc (Fried Grinded Squid) Festival will be held for five days from April 27 to May 1, where a record-breaking Giant Squid Sausage of Vietnam will be created. Other notable activities include the opening ceremony of a culinary pedestrian street on April 20 and the Lion-Dragon Dance Festival from April 27 to May 1.

Additional festivals attracting tourists include the kite festival and the two-day festival at the Tran Quoc Nghien Temple from April 30 to May 1.

Vice Chairman of Ha Long City People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Son affirmed that the 2024 Carnaval Festival will feature many new, unique, and innovative elements, further promoting the image of Ha Long Bay, which has been recognized as a World Natural Heritage site for 30 years.
